Day 16.......

I almost forgot to post this - heck, I almost forgot to put my last order of the month in too........that would have been bad!

I was awful busy today for taking the day off.....lol I got all of the cabinets completely painted (beadboarding the ends of them) and got some of the doors back on. I even got one knob hung.....they're so pretty. My family thinks I've lost it because I just couldn't take it anymore - I had to bring something back into the room - so I brought all of my bling. ;o) It's sparkly and nice to look at! It makes me happy........

You people all think I'm crazy when I say my cat has it out for me.........I'm NOT! I painted the one window sill and moved on to the other one. I turned around to get more paint on my brush and what do I see? The friggin cat sitting on my newly painted window sill. I was so pi$$ed! I took pictures of the evidence this time. I know she's out to get me.......I'm not paranoid at all am I? lol

Day 15.........a sloooooooow day.......

Not much got done today.........just got my outlets put in their little boxes and in working order..........I also got my pendant lights hung up. They look low now but when the counter is put in under them (which was supposed to happen today but didn't.....grrrrrr), they will look right because the counter is so low.....it's only going to be 30" off the ground......

I don't think we'll really be doing anything over the weekend.....just kinda taking it easy. We talked to the foundation guy today - he will be here either Monday or Tuesday......so now we can move forward with everything else - we were at a standstill.......

Day 14.......

I got the bathroom done tonight. I had to LOL when I saw a reply to yesterday's post. I had already bought a 2nd rod to hang the new curtain up higher and more forward with - then left the old rod with the liner on it down lower and behind. It looks really good in there now.......you can't see the shower at all. Now just to pick out a new light to replace the 60's globes over the sink......I wish we could get a new ceiling too - the grids are so ugly - but ooh well - I don't spend a lot of time in there so what do I care?

I got my upper cabinets primed today and then dragged the base cabinet in tonight since it's supposed to rain tomorrow. I'm not going to re-poly the floor until we're all done in there......it'll probably get nicked up more between now and then - plus, without the floor down in the family room, just walking in there gets the floor really dirty. Tomorrow I have to prime the base cabinet, paint the uppers and the new molding I got today.....I even got a fabulous window sill - perfect for putting my adhesive on when I am working on stuff.....no more searching for lost adhesive..........Yeah!

The base cabinet is a little beat but hey - it was FREE and easy to fix up.....yeah!

dh worked on getting more of the sofit down today - I swear, if a tornado struck, that would be the only part of the house still in one piece.....

Day 13 - I almost took the day off...

I am SO sore from sanding and staining the floor last night. I could hardly move this morning. I have muscles aching in places I didn't know I had muscles......even my butt cheeks hurt....lol I did a whole lotta sitting on my arse today. Steve came and puttered all day. He fixed the hole in the kitchen ceiling so now it's ready to re-hang the cabinet sideways now. He also got some of the moldings done and re-built some of the door casings. It doesn't look like he really did anything today even though I know he was busy - I must have seen him walk back and forth to the garage fifty times today.

I did poly my floor tonight after Logan's baseball game. I also worked on fixing my big problem in the bathroom. Over our fugly blue shower, no matter what we did, the paint would peel from the moisture. I had the brilliant idea of using peel and stick tiles to cover up the sheetrock and then caulk around the edges - hopefully it works. I only got the back wall done - I still have to do the two side walls which I'll do tomorrow. I'm anxious to get our new towels and shower curtain hung up and I can't do that until I get the tiles done.

My realllllllllly ugly bathroom - it is what it is. It does look better yellow......I seriously hate the blue shower, sink and toilet but my dream bathroom is going to run at least $15K and we certainly don't have that kinda cash so I'll just have to continue to deal with my blue bathroom.

I have to say these vinyl tiles are really nice - they look pretty realistic and they even kinda feel realistic.....

The shower curtain I got from Target - it's blue, yellow, green and white.....just perfect. ;o)

Day 12 - What day is it anyways?

Ok - so the days are really starting to blend together......aagh!

Anyways, the upper cabinets got hung and the floor got sanded and I even got the first coat of stain on the floor....not that I took a picture of that because I just finished (10pm) and it's too dark in there right now. There's always tomorrow.... ;o)

Day 11 - A splash of color......

The morning started out with sanding the walls and ended up with a fabulous coat of paint on the walls.

Tomorrow morning, my upper cabinets will get hung up. My dad just brought my base cabinet today and hopefully I can get that painted tomorrow - at least primed. I'd like to get my floors sanded and stained in the next day or two too.....

Day 8 - a whole lotta nuttin

I almost forgot all about posting tonight. It was a really boring day here. Steve finished up some more sheetrock and re-did the door casing at the bottom of the stairs. It had a door and I've decided I don't want to put it back up. Dh also got the soffit painted and the first coat on some of the cabinets. It is going to look completely different in there. The SS appliances really pop with the blue paint and white cabinets......

Dh went and picked up the new fridge this morning and surprise, surprise, it came with a matching stove and over-the-range microwave. SmileyCentral.com (this is what happens when I let dh go to Lowe's alone......)Too bad it didn't come with the dishwasher too......lol

Crap - I need to edit out the price tag on the fridge before I share the pictures with my family.....lol And, no, he didn't pay that much for the fridge...close but not quite...we've been eyeballing it for 8 months and thankfully it was 'last years' model....we couldn't pass it up. I love it!

Ooh - and the stove didn't fit in the hole - we had to cut the counter back. This is what happens when you don't realize that you've left your good camera sitting on the counter....I had put plastic over the pile of stuff on the counter but my camera still took a hit....Dh was NOT happy with me at all - thankfully he has the air compressor and he was able to blow it all off....I thought he was going to kill me - if looks could kill.......haha
